More Color Inspiration

More about the black and white Damask/Paisley/Brocade patterns and splashes of hot pink wedding theme idea...

So I was thinking that instead of my girls wearing the pattern as a dress...They can wear solid hot pink and my MOH can wear solid black.
Or the girls wear solid hot pink with a black bow/ribbon/sash and my MOH wears solid black with a hot pink sash/ribbon/bow.

Since I do definitely want uniformity with my girls, I still always figured (and probably have mentioned a few times) that my MOH's dress will be slightly different. And this might be a good compromise since my sister really doesn't want to wear pink.

I originally figured they would all have the same dress style and color, and the top of the dress would just differ slightly (ie, strapless, halter, tank, etc.) so that the MOH could be easily distinguished from the other girls.
But the exact same gown on all of them, with the opposite color is another idea that I think I will run with.

I never really cared for the idea of say all the girls in dark purple and the MOH in light purple, for example.
But black with pink and pink with black, I'm liking that idea...

I mean obviously if my girls look horrible in pink, I will choose something else.
And then of course the hassle will begin to try to find a dress that will flatter all of them.

But right now, back to my wedding color ideas.

I know I used to always say I didn't want anyone wearing black or white to my wedding...Black is for a funeral and white is just for the bride...But look how classy this looks:

So now of course I have to rethink my wedding cake idea.
To something more like...

That. Only I would want all of the tiers to have that same pattern that is shown on the 2'nd and 4th tier...The white background with the black pattern. And then I guess the bottom of each tier could have an (edible) hot pink ribbon going around it.

Wedding Objects that I Fancy

David's Bridal Gown
I actually didn't realize there were colored flowers on the dress until I zoomed in...I really can't say if I like that detail until I try it on. But if I do like it, that would be a good way to get a subtle pink in my dress! HA! :)

I found another Alfred Angelo Wedding Gown to adore... ;)

I like this pretty Table Number...And I really like the down-low holder!

Table Numbers & Escort Cards

There is something about Table Numbers that I just don't like for some reason.
Instead of numbers I would rather have something cute and clever.

For example, The tables can be called "Love"..."Honor"..."Cherish"..."Best Friends"..."Soul Mates"..."True Love"

Or maybe label them with cute couples, "Lucy & Ricky" (from I Love Lucy, or use their real names, "Lucille & Dezi")..."Prince Charming & Cinderella"..."Peter & Lois Griffin"..."Fry & Leela" (Well they weren't really a couple, I just always hoped they would be! Hehe)

If I was only having like 5 tables at my wedding, that would be fine.
The guests would pick up their escort card, see what table name they were at, and only have a couple tables to look through. "Oh this is Table Mario & Princess Peach, I'm at Table Zach Morris & Kelly Kapowski" And then they just look through a couple of tables and they found it, no big deal.

But chances are, there are going to be at least 20 tables. No one is going to want to go from table to table without any guidance of where their table is...And quite frankly, I wouldn't blame them.
Furthermore, I wouldn't blame them if they gave up, and just sat wherever the heck they wanted to!

So I am thinking that I will probably have to do stupid table numbers.
But I guess I can always have sayings or whatever on the numbers...Maybe.
Like the escort card only says "Table 2", and you get to a table clearly marked "Table 2" and then also on it, it says something like "Link & Zelda forever!"
But maybe that will be too tacky.
Maybe it is more classy to just stick with nice table numbers.

And you don't want to have another table decoration saying "Jon & Christina Rock!" in addition to a sign saying "Table 3"...
Because then you have to worry about the centerpieces.
And room for the escort cards to go (And possibly a holder, if the escort card wasn't just a bi-fold).
AND one or maybe a couple of wedding favors per guest.

Not to mention the dinner plate, silverware, glasses, and possibly bottles of wine or champagne or a pitcher of water.

Yeah, that is one crowded table!

So I think I will do my best to keep it as simple and classy as possible.

Let's see...I think the essentials are: escort cards, table number (and holder thingy to hold up the number), centerpiece...And probably the wedding favor(s) will be already on the table too.

Maybe the centerpiece can have a little table number sticking out of it...Which can help save room...But not all centerpiece themes will work will with a number sticking out of it.

Below are two examples of really cute escort cards with a holder:

I especially love this one because I am soooo about the 'LOVE' items that replace the 'O' with a heart!
I even want to go to Love Park so Jon and I can get our picture in front of that famous statue. And then we could use that picture for the Save the Dates or the Invitations...And use all the 'LOVE' items as a possible theme for our wedding! :)
(One of these days I am going to devote a whole post to those 'LOVE' items...They are just too adorable! Or perhaps overdone? Either way, I LOVE them!)

I just can't help but love hearts...And at a wedding, it seems extra appropriate! :)

I think the following is a good example of a money and space saver:

Now that example is classy. And I love calla lillies!
Plus, the frame holding the escort card can double as a wedding favor; the guest gets home, takes the escort card out, and now they have a cute little picture frame. If you want to be cheap, that can be the only wedding favor. I doubt anyone would complain. And now you have one less thing on the table too.

So another way I think I can save room (and money) is by eliminating the escort card holder altogether.

The other day I came across a really cute picture of unique escort cards. Instead of just a bi-folded paper with your name and table number on it, they were shaped like chairs. They said "Please take your seat" on them. And then of course also listed the important credentials.
And for some reason I cannot find where I saw them. I'm sure it was in someone's wedding blog that I came across. But I wanted to give them credit, and show off their cute picture.
If anyone knows what I am referring to, please comment with where I can find them! They were so adorable! Thanks! :)

OK, so that is not the chair escorts I was talking about...But I just wanted to throw in a visual aide to assist me in explaining what paper folded to look like a chair looks like. :)
And they were super cute, so no one would miss the escort card's holder.

So here is another example of how cute the escort card can look all by itself:

Let's see...I covered escort cards with holders, escort cards with a favor, and escort cards without holders.

Oh and I just came across this:

The website describes it as, "They not only act as placecard holders, with their included vellum strip which serves as a place card, but inside the seat of the chair they hold several ounces of whatever favor filling you want."

I think they are cute...I like how they serve more than one purpose...But where does it show the table numbers? Maybe these are already sitting at the tables, and the guests have to go around to all of the tables to find their names or something?

Sometimes people have like 'maps' or the floor plan of the reception hall drawn up for when you first walk in. And the guest's names are included in the seating chart. And you have to find where you are sitting that way, and then just walk to the table (if you can remember the seating chart in your head)...Maybe those are only used when there are less tables?

Soooo many questions!
Or maybe I am just looking too much into these things.

Well, I should get to sleep.
I have to get up early for work tomorrow...And then Jon and I are off to a wedding this weekend! Yay! :)

EDIT: I was really tired last night and apparently didn't realize something. Sometimes I said 'escort cards' and sometimes I said 'place cards'...And I was using the term interchangeably.
But I am thinking that was wrong. And escort cards tell you what table you are at...And place cards tell you the seat at the table. Right?
Which is why those last chairs I posted are place cards, when I asked where you put the table numbers, they aren't escort cards.

My guess is that you first walk into the reception hall and you see a escort card with your name and table number on it...And then you get to said table and see a place card to show you which seat at the table is yours.
I haven't been to a wedding that has told you which seat at the table you must sit at.
Has anyone else seen or done that?
I am thinking I will not use place cards, and I will just have escort cards tell the guests which table is theirs...And not force them to sit in a particular chair at that table.

What do you want from me? It was like 1am!
Hehe
