INVITATIONS!

Now that all of the invitations have been mailed and received by all of our guests...I can finally post an entry showing what they look like! I didn't want to do it prior to mailing them out, because I didn't want to ruin the surprise.

Front of the Invitation:

Back of the Invitation:

Front of the Response Card (Except this photo shows the wrong RSVP Date):

Back Left of the Response Card:

Awesome, right? :)

Not everyone was able to tell that it is Jon and I in the photo.

So our original estimate was that 150 people will come to the wedding.
We ended up inviting more people than originally planned...And wayyy more people than we budgeted for.
Unfortunately we actually didn't even invite everyone on our Ultimate Guest List.

The totals so far are:

People Invited: 290

People Responded "Yes": 88

People Responded "No": 48

People Haven't Said Anything Yet: 154

So we are still waiting on 78 of 143 Response cards to come back.

The RSVP deadline date isn't for another 12 days...But I'm impatient. I like to be prepared and organized...And the sooner I get a total head count, the sooner I can work on various odds and ends and details.

Also, I act like it is Christmas every day when I go to the mailbox to see if we get RSVP cards or not...And then if we do it's like I'm a little kid opening the present and wondering 'is it a good present or not?' when I look to see what people respond with.

Yes, I am an uber dork. But I've come to accept that. So, it's all good.

I just cannot get over how fast time is just flying by!
I know plenty of people have told me how fast it will come and go...But JEEZ!

I mean, we have already been engaged for 282 days...And only have 33 days of being engaged left!!
Not to mention that we have already been dating for 1,135 days.

HOLY CANOLLI!! Seriously, feels like just yesterday we met...

WOW!

When we first got engaged and then picked a date it felt like forever away. And I was glad we only picked a year of being engaged as opposed to two years like we were contemplating...Because that would really have felt like forever away. But now it would only be like a year away. We would have more time to plan, and most importantly to save money.
But I am also glad that we are only 1 Month and 2 Days away...Because I am just soooo excited!!

OK, I'll stop rambling now. :)

Uber Quick Updates!

Only 185 Days left! :)

Here are a few really quick updates.

Saturday was our appointment for our Wedding Invitations...And it went really well. She is going to make up a couple of designs for us to chose from.

Then on Sunday we met with the Priest. We were so comfortable with him that we decided on having a mass. We were originally just going to have a non-mass ceremony...And I am actually very very excited about our special wedding ceremony and mass!

Last night we met with a different florist...And I am absolutely in love with this man! He is just so fabulous!
And he gave us a good enough price that we can actually afford to have flowers in our centerpieces! So we no longer have to go with the flower-less centerpieces.
I am sooooo excited for this florist!

Now I think that we have every vendor we need booked!! OMG!

The only thing left to book is our Hawaii Honeymoon!! :)

I am finally way more excited than stressed for this wedding now!

Once we have our honeymoon situated and booked, there really won't even be too much to worry about or do for a couple of weeks at least.

The biggest things I still need to decide on:
  • What linens I want
  • Escort cards and escort card holders
  • More Favors in addition to the photo booth favors
  • Location of the Rehearsal Dinner

Then there are just little decisions like what songs to play during the reception...What readings to have during the ceremony...Etc.

Either way, I think I get to start relaxing a bit now...And then I'll stress again as the wedding gets closer.

All I know is that I am soooo uber excited!!

Only 6 Months & 4 More Days left to go!! :)

A Few Quick Updates

Last Friday Night we went to the design lady that does flower-less centerpieces. She had some good ideas at a very reasonable price. So we have to think about it.

Saturday Morning we went to our florist appointment to discover that she forgot all about our appointment. So it was a sloppy appointment on her end since she was not ready. All in all, she was nice and had great ideas, but I think she is going to be way too expensive.
So we totally need to keep looking for another florist ASAP!

Saturday Afternoon we went to our cake tasting. And it went awesome! We booked him.

I showed him the design of my butter cream version of my fondant cake that I designed…We were pretty much able to stick with the butter cream version of my dream wedding cake. I am actually really excited about it. I think it is going to look really awesome! :)

At first Jon and I decided we were going to get every tier in chocolate. But then the baker asked us, “what about people who don’t like chocolate?” (Which actually includes my dad and my sister.) So then we decided that the top tier that we take home with us is chocolate. And the biggest bottom tier is going to be chocolate with peanut butter mousse! I am very excited for that! And then one of the other bottom tiers will be a marble cake…And then the other tier is going to be a yellow cake. We tasted all of the cake flavors on Saturday, and they all rock!

We also tasted three different butter creams. One was vanilla, one was more yellowy, and the last was chocolate.

The chocolate butter cream was soooo damn good! I was very tempted to order a full chocolate cake with chocolate ganache in between the layers and chocolate butter cream on the outside. But we did not do that.

All of the butter creams were yummy and not too sweet. He said they can adjust the sweetness level or add flavorings to the creams. But we decided to leave them as is. And we chose the white butter cream for the outside of the cake for the simple reason that my final design called for the cake to be mostly white. So that’s that.

I can’t wait until my wedding day to see my design brought to life in my actual wedding cake!! :)

Tomorrow afternoon is our Invitations appointment. So hopefully that goes well.

Oh and last Sunday I finally ordered our Save-The-Dates that a friend of mine designed for us. So hopefully those magnets will be coming in soon!

And those are all of the updates for now! :)

LIttle bit of this, little bit of that...

Flower Girl Dress for my black and white theme...Alfred Angelo has done it again! :)

OK So maybe this is a little too cartoony or babyish...But I think this is really unique and cute:

Cute STD, no?
I wonder if we can steal this idea and use our actual pictures...And maybe my color theme for the background...

And here is my color theme...Yay! :)

More Color Inspiration

More about the black and white Damask/Paisley/Brocade patterns and splashes of hot pink wedding theme idea...

So I was thinking that instead of my girls wearing the pattern as a dress...They can wear solid hot pink and my MOH can wear solid black.
Or the girls wear solid hot pink with a black bow/ribbon/sash and my MOH wears solid black with a hot pink sash/ribbon/bow.

Since I do definitely want uniformity with my girls, I still always figured (and probably have mentioned a few times) that my MOH's dress will be slightly different. And this might be a good compromise since my sister really doesn't want to wear pink.

I originally figured they would all have the same dress style and color, and the top of the dress would just differ slightly (ie, strapless, halter, tank, etc.) so that the MOH could be easily distinguished from the other girls.
But the exact same gown on all of them, with the opposite color is another idea that I think I will run with.

I never really cared for the idea of say all the girls in dark purple and the MOH in light purple, for example.
But black with pink and pink with black, I'm liking that idea...

I mean obviously if my girls look horrible in pink, I will choose something else.
And then of course the hassle will begin to try to find a dress that will flatter all of them.

But right now, back to my wedding color ideas.

I know I used to always say I didn't want anyone wearing black or white to my wedding...Black is for a funeral and white is just for the bride...But look how classy this looks:

So now of course I have to rethink my wedding cake idea.
To something more like...

That. Only I would want all of the tiers to have that same pattern that is shown on the 2'nd and 4th tier...The white background with the black pattern. And then I guess the bottom of each tier could have an (edible) hot pink ribbon going around it.

Color Decisions

I think I have narrowed my wedding colors down to three final choices...But I can't decide between them.
And then of course every color comes in like 552 different shades!
Decisions, decisions!

Pink and Brown:

Mocha and Light Pink

Pink/Brown

Pink/Brown Damask

Pink and Black:

This actually is not a dress I want my bridesmaids wearing...But I am just showing how black and fuchsia go so nicely together!

And now the opposite...Pink with black bow!

Pink/Black Damask

Pink, Black, and White:

Pink, Black, and White...Sooo pretty!!

Pink/Black/White Paisley

I recently have been really getting into Damask flowery patterns

Ring Pillow

Favor Boxes

So can that be a theme? Black and white Damask flowery patterns, with splashes of hot pink...Fun! And maybe classy?

Maybe my girls could wear a dress like this with a hot pink sash thingy?
Or would that be too loud?

If that is the definite theme, then it could be cute if I wore that dress, instead of my girls, to the rehearsal dinner or some other pre-wedding party.

This dress is kind of what I just described, right?

I came across this picture as a banner to a website...But I really like the idea of using that for an invitation pattern. The black and white damask in the back with that pretty turquoise color replaced by a pretty fuchsia color...And a pink ribbon with a diamondy clasp around it.

Invitations & Save-The-Dates

This would go perfect with the Cinderella cake topper! (If I decide to use it.)

This is different then any Invitation idea I have liked...But I kind of like the organization of this one...Assuming the colors can be changed to match my theme.

Simply Breathtaking!
I ADORE THE BLING ASPECT! :)

I LOVE the idea of saying "Tying the knot" and using an actual knot!

This Save-The-Date combines every detail that I wanted all into one!
It has a spot for our picture, and a calendar, and a ribbon 'knot', AND it's a magnet!
FANTASTIC! :)
UPDATE: I just stared at that picture for a while, because I became so in love with it...And I saw a flaw...Nowhere does it mention the location. I mean think about it logically...Would you save the date for an event that you don't know where it is? You don't know if you are saving a date for something local, something a few hours away, or something you need to go buy a plane ticket for!
Unless it's alright not to include the location because it does say 'invitation to follow', which will obviously include the location...But all wedding etiquette that I have ever read said to include the location on your Save-The-Dates.
Hmmmmm....

Invitations & Save-The-Dates

OK, so I personally wouldn't use that pattern for my Wedding Invitation...But maybe my Bridal Shower or Thank Yous.
I just think the pattern is so pretty.
But maybe it's just the little pink-loving girly girl still in me.

I think that is a cute Save-The-Date...And despite it being pink, I think it isn't as babyish as some of the others I kinda like. Hehe
(Yes, it took all of the strength I have to resist the urge to post the cute Cinderella themed princess fairytale Invitations and Save-The-Dates!)

Well, that magnet is direct and to the point, huh?!

Too Valentine's Day looking?
Well at least it is polite and says, "please".

How adorable is that for a destination wedding?!
I think I am in LOVE! ;)

Wedding Invitations

Last year I went to a couple of bridal shows with my friend Nina. (I can't believe she is finally getting married in two weeks!!)

Anyway, some of the vendors repeat at each show. And there was this one girl I remember who does graphic designs for invitations or wedding photos, etc.
And I remember how good her work was. And her husband, well fiancé at the time, works with her or was just helping out with her booth. Either way, they were a good looking couple and used their own pictures for the sample invitations.
And it turned out that she was showing the actual possibilities for invitations for her own wedding.

Anyway...My point is that I loved all the samples she had at her booth. It gave me ideas for invitations that I never thought of! And the reason I bring this up now is because her website is finally up and running. So I can look at the beautiful pictures again!

The thing I LOVE about those two ideas is that it is personalized by using a picture of the couple...And yet you don't see their faces. Which is perfect for me, 'cuz as I have mentioned in the past, Jon and I rarely have a decent picture of us together, because I usually hate how my face looks in pictures.

I think if someone took a candid picture of Jon and I, it would probably be better than when we try to pose for a picture. Because it can capture like our actual real expressions. And if we were smiling at each other or something, that would probably make an awesome picture...And look better because it would be natural as opposed to staged and stiff.

Examples of natural candid poses (Or maybe they were just really good at posing while looking like they weren't!) Either way, these are REALLY CUTE too:

As are these:

I am just so jealous at what a cute couple they are...And how good all of their photos came out!
(Haha I feel like such a stalker!)

Maybe when Jon and I go get professional engagement photos taken of us, we can FINALLY have a decent picture of us! Hehe Maybe.
*Crosses fingers*
