Parasols

I once mentioned the idea of having my bridal party use parasols for photo accessories.
That was a while ago. And although I have thought about the idea since then, I just kept brushing it off.

However, I recently came across these gorgeous pink and white parasols and cannot stop thinking about them!!

Gorgeous, right?!

And then as I was searching the web, I found some photos of weddings using (what I believe to be) these exact same parasols! Which just make me love them even more!

They look a lot lighter in this photo than in the stock photo...But I think they are the same ones because the girl who is trying to sell them has the same stock photo that I put at the top of this entry.

This photo also looks like those same parasols...And in similar wedding colors to my own!

Again showing how awesome black and hot pink go together! :)

So if I got pink for my girls, I would need a black and white damask one. Or, well, of course I could always have pink too.

So I could always use this white and black parasol to match the girl's pink and white...It is the same pattern.

There's also this one...Which doesn't really look like white...And of course it is Mehendi Henna, and not damask. But it is still beautiful.

Maybe I can find one that is white with a pink pattern for myself. I will have a pink bouquet, so it wouldn't be that strange for me to have pink.
Oh, and actually if the girls had pink with white, that would be neat if I had white with pink. Especially if we could actually all have the same pattern.

I don't see a white with pink parasol on on the website where the pink with white, and white with black parasols came from. But maybe I could always contact them and see if they could custom make one for me.

Additional Favors

Some days I am having the hardest time letting go of wedding things we can't afford.
To stick to our budget I have given up a lot of things that I would love to have for our wedding.
Don't get me wrong, I love the things we are having and I am very excited for our wedding!

But if money was no option, I could think of a million more things I would buy.

For example, no matter how much I talk myself out of it, I keep coming back to wanting a Candy/Dessert Station.

I have even tried to figure out a cheaper way around it, by incorporating an additional favor that has candy in it...Instead of a full out Candy Buffet.

But come on, how cute would a table full of just hot pink, black, and white candies look?!

I even found this poem for if I decide on having Jordan Almonds:

"Five sugared almond for each guest to eat: that symbolizes that life is both bitter and sweet: five wishes for the new husband and wife: health, wealth, happiness, children and long life.""

I found a lot of cute pink, white, and black individual candies that would make up an adorable buffet table. I also found several mixed pink and white candies...And even some pink, black, and white candies all in one!
I cannot post pictures of all of the individual candies I found, so here are just some candy buffet photos:

Pink Candy Buffet

Black & White Candy Buffet

Hot Pink & Black Candy Buffet

I am also still addicted to the idea of having pretzels dipped in dark chocolate, white chocolate, and pink sprinkles...And then attaching a note that says "Thank you for helping us Tie The Knot!"

I guess that's pretty much it for now.

Just 55 Days to go! :)

YAY!

Yay Here is my new Unity Candle proof:

She said that the ribbons and the pink font colors don't match exactly, so she recommended keeping the 'J' and 'C' on the tapers in black. But I think I still want them in pink to match the 'H'.

Also, my awesome Card Box came in the mail today! :)
It came in one piece and it looks great! :)

YAY! :)

EDIT: The final proof that I just approved of:

Looks good, right? I can't wait to see the candle set in person!!

Making Progress! {67 Days Left!}

I am so excited for the purchases I have just made!
AND they are all black & white damask objects! YAY! :)

One of the many projects I said I was going to make for this wedding, was a card box. After 8 Months (and 4 days, to be exact) of being engaged flew by, I knew that many of my original projects would have to be aborted. Including making my own card box. I was going to see what kind of card box my reception hall offered, but then I came across this online and just had to order it:

I know the pattern is black background with white pattern instead of white background with black pattern like my table squares are...But I doubt too many other people (if even anyone other than myself) will notice that.

It was used once in a recent wedding. And I thought it was perfect that it already has a 'H' monogram on top! The girl seemed nice and gave it to me for a pretty reasonable price.

For a minute I thought that the headless statues were creepy, so my mom had a good idea that we can put a picture of Jon and myself in each of the statues to make it cute and less creepy.

I am also wondering if I can sell it after my wedding.

For any Brides-To-Be out there, you should definitely check out the Classifieds section of WeddingBee! Millions of Brides out there are selling all of their wedding stuff at reduced costs! That is where I got the card box from...And I am probably going to try to put it back up for sale on there after my wedding.

Another purchase I just made was for my garter set! Yay!

Pretty right? I first mentioned a similar garter set here...But decided against that hot pink set and instead went with this fuchsia set...I thought it matched my theme better. For anyone interested in purchasing a set like this, this came from the same Etsy seller as the hot pink set. Also, she says that she puts a blue stitch in each of the garters for the 'Something Blue'...Which is awesome, because I was still lacking a 'Something Blue'!

The third purchase I just made was for a custom set of Unity Candles.

So originally I put in an order for this candle:

But then as I looked through more of her work I came across this set:

And I fell in love with the full damask background, as opposed to it just being on the top and bottom of the candle.

THEN I saw this candle:

And asked her to make me a rhinestone 'H' like that 'M'....But she said it wouldn't fit on my candle in the design I chose. :(

So she said that she will try to add a few Rhinestones to the printed 'H' for me. :)

She sent me a proof:

I am SOOOOO glad that she did, because well, Jon's name is spelled wrong!

So I let her know and she is going to fix the spelling...Also, I told her to use the other pattern that I had asked for. Since this is black background, white pattern....And I asked for white background and black pattern. And the third adjustment I asked her to make was to put the date in fuchsia to match the ribbons.
And then I changed my mind and asked her to keep the names and date in black, but make the 'H' in fuchsia...And then have the 'C' and 'J' on the tapers be in fuchsia too.

So I am very excited to see the next proof she sends me! :)

Up-Dos

I am at such a complete loss for how I want to wear my hair for my wedding!!

This is pretty. And I love the jeweled hairpins!

Why can't I tear myself away from this timeless classic look?!

This is pretty and curly and shows that you have a lot of hair.
I mean, I have been growing my hair forever in preparation for the wedding, I hate to just have it up and gone unnoticed!

I'm not going to lie, I love Jessica's random braids in this hairstyle!

And that's all I've got for right now...

More Bridesmaid Hairstyles

Someone mentioned that if my bridesmaid's have complete up-dos with their backless dresses, than it will make their shoulders look wider or their backs fatter or something.

So I was wondering if there is some style out there is like like a half up/half down style...Where the 'up' part is a french twist and then the 'down' part is just like pretty curls or something.

So I turned to Google Images...And here are some more possible Bridesmaid Hairstyles...

Not quite what I had in mind, but very BEAUTIFUL!

Not really pretty...But more like what I am talking about.

Of course I just realized that maybe I need to pick out my hairstyle first...So they can compliment it, or maybe they are supposed to match me, or maybe they are supposed to be total opposite style of me. I have no idea.

And Google kind of let me down today. I cannot really find what I am looking for, so I will try again later.

Bridesmaid's Hair

Today's Lunch Break brought to you by Bridesmaid's Hairstyles.
Enjoy!

So I was thinking that my Bridesmaids should have classy up-dos to go with their elegant gowns, and with a splash of pink to match their sash and shoes.
So maybe something like a Hot Pink French Twist?

Oh wait, no....I meant a French twist with a hot pink flower.

So as I said, I was thinking of using any pretty pink flower that would match the theme.
But then I got to thinking that maybe they should specifically use a pink stargazer lily. Since that is what their bouquets are going to consist of.

The basic idea.

A different idea...Several small flowers instead of one big one.

Maybe my Maid of Honor should have white flowers to match her white sash, and only the bridesmaids have pink flowers to match their pink sash...Or is that too bridal?

Bridal Hair

My Bridal Shower on Saturday came and went. It was great, but it just went by way too fast. Now I am sad that it is over.

I will try to make time to post some pictures from it later.

Today we are 73 Days away from the wedding.
Two Months & 1 Week Away.
10 Weeks & 4 Days Away.
No matter how you count down, it is coming fast!!

My biggest stressor lately has been wondering if we will be able to pay for the wedding without going in the poor house or not. Our original budget did not have buying a house in mind. I have done everything I can to find the best deals on things, and save the most money.
But I am still quite stressed and nervous.

So today I am spending my lunch break looking up possible Bridal Up-Dos.
I am still kinda against the idea of having all of my hair up, despite the fact that is the only way to show off my decorative halter strap.
I also keep forgetting to take my tiara into account with the style. Lately I have been wanting a pretty white and diamond flower for my hair...But I am sure that with a tiara that would look way overdone. So I am nixing the flower idea. I just loved how great the pink flower looked in my hair at my Bridal Shower. Maybe I'll have my bridesmaids wear pink flowers in their hair.

I also have yet to decide how I am wearing my veils. For the ceremony I have a long cathedral veil and a second shorter veil. The double-veil looks awesome. I haven't decided if I am wearing it over my face or not. I think that even if I don't wear it over my face, I still want it to be traditional and start at the top of my head...As opposed to most girls lately starting it at the back, under the up-do. And then I was planning on just wearing the shorter veil for the the beginning of the reception, and then going veil-less for the rest of the reception.

So just some more stuff for me to stress over and have to figure out.

Anddddd my lunch break is over.
Ciao!

Bridal Shower Hair

Just randomly thinking about how I want my hair done for my Bridal Shower this Saturday.
I am thinking about the side pony into curls that I have been talking about for a long time, but maybe with a braid too.
Here are the photos I can find that look pretty much like what I am picturing in my head:

I like how it is the idea of the side curly pony tail that I like...And with a braid leading to the curls.

This style is called a 'Braided Bun'...I don't see the braid, but I do love how classy it looks.

This has more of a casual feel to it.

As you can see, there are so many variations! This is a messy bun look.

I am beginning to think that my creative idea was not so original...But still cute! :)
